SkyView Microwave - Active Editor
SkyView Active Editor uses a separate interface that shows the project import file in a tabular format. Adjustments to import file values can be made through the Active Editor and the results viewed in the project loaded into Google Earth.
Google Earth includes many 3D buildings and structures that can be used to show if microwave paths are potentially blocked. Active Editor can then be used to find the path coordinates and change site location so that it is no longer blocked by the building.
Clicking the Save button in Active Editor screen will not only save the changes but also recalculate the affected path so that the project loaded in Google Earth is updated with the new site coordinates.
Another example of the easy of use of Active Editor and Google Earth is to view paths that are color coded red beacuse of terrain clearance or other Design Criteria. Active Editor can be used to find and change the site antenna height so that the Fresnel zone clears the terrain.
When the Google Earth project is updated with the changes made through the Active Editor, the affected site antenna height will have changed and path color changes to show it is no longer failing user selected Design Criteria.
The Google Earth balloon for the affected path will also show recalculated terrain clearance and any other values that were affected by changes made through the Active Editor.
All Google Earth path balloons in the microwave network can also included in the PDF reports. These reports contain the same link budget information as in the Google Earth balloons and are also color coded and contain the path profile chart.
